Thank You Card

I've made this card for the Docerela challenge this week which is Thank You. I've used a Marianne stamp that I got in Netherlands and coloured her with Promarkers. I love how she is playing at dressing up. The backing paper is by Marianne too. The greeting is from a Stampin Up set and I've added some lace and gems to finish. My ribbon is the paper ribbon on the left and the buttons are on her dress - I hope they count!

Polka Doodle Dandies August Challenge

The lovely Nikky at Polka Doodles has challenged her followers on Facebook to either start a blog or use their blog more and to post three cards for the August challenge. One of the cards had to use a free Emma Canning image which is available to all who want to enter.

For my first card I've used the All Sewn Up section from the Picknix CD. The paper behind the sewing machine is the same as the main backing paper but resized in Craft Artist. I love how this CD works so well in this software.

My second card uses Craft Artist and the Picknix CD again but this time I've mostly used the Welcome Home section. I've used a background from the Heavenly Garden section which was originally blue but I've coloured it pink to match the cakes.

My third card uses the sweet Emma Canning Image we were given. I've paper pieced her clothes with papers from Picknix  and coloured the rest of her with Promarkers. I've also used Amelia from the Pretty Sweet CD. The rest of the card uses the Welcome Home section of the Picknix CD.

Because I Care

This is a quick sympathy card I needed to make. I've used Kraft card blanks by Papermania. The image is Dandelion by Hero Arts stamped with Ink It Up white inkpad and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White powder. The sentiment is by Stampin Up and stamped with the same ink and powder as the image. I was really surprised at how good this ink pad is for a cheaper brand and I think it works well on Kraft card.

I'm entering my card into this weeks challenge at My Mum's Craft Shop

Totally Sentimental

I've made a tag from scrap card and coloured it with Pan Pastels. The sentiment stamp is by Inkylicious called Scatter Seeds and the foliage is from their Prickly Shrubs set and both are stamped with Versafine. The backing paper is from a Papermania stack called Regency and I've added some Pan Pastels to the corners to tone it in with the tag. The fibres are from a box I found stashed away. We did a swop on the old Imag-e-nation forum years ago and I didn't get around to using many so they'll probably be appearing on lots of my cards now

I'm entering this card into the Joanna Sheen challenge which this week is to use a sentiment as the main focus and the Polka Doodles challenge which is to use a tag on your card

Kansas by Mo Manning

This image is Kansas by Mo Manning but I have cheated and bought a sheet of ready coloured images by the Hobby House - they are great for quick cards for my charity box.

I followed the layout from Sketch N Stash. The two yellow papers are from Dovecraft's Garden Party stack. I couldn't find a suitable brown paper so I've inked the edges of one with vintage photo Distress Ink. The greeting is Craftwork Cards and I've added a few yellow flowers.

Polka Doodles Celebration

It's Celebration time at Polka Doodles this week - well that's the theme of this weeks challenge. I've used the Love & Cherish CD for my very simple card. Just printed the topper backing paper and paper ribbon and put it all together. I've gone over the hearts on the topper with a Sakura stardust pen which you can see in the second picture and added a couple of swirl die cuts and some gems.

Summer Days

The current challenge at Anything Goes is Summer Days. I've used a stamp from Summer By The Sea by Stampin Up and stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine. I've coloured it with Pan Pastels. The backing paper is from The Good Life Forever Friends pack. I was stuck for a sentiment but came across this from another Stampin Up set which I thought was perfect. The shells are Marianne and Dye-namics dies.

Mia In Kimono

I love this stamp by Wild Rose Studio and it fits well with the backing papers which are by Crafts Too. This is a really gorgeous pad as all the sheets are have a lovely gold pattern on them. The colours are to go with the photo inspiration challenge at Docerela Creations - what a lovely colour for you wedding theme. I've coloured Mia with Promarkers and the sentiment is stamped Brilliance Rocket Red Gold.  This is my favourite ink pad ever you can see the gold shimmer in the close up. The paper strips, image and sentiment ore edged with a gold Krylon pen. The layout is from the Sketch Saturday challenge.

Now, I really must get back to the two maze books I'm supposed to be doing.

Girlie Card For Going Buggy

This months challenge at Going Buggy is to make a Girlie card. I've used a Born To Shop image by DoCrafts and coloured it with Promarkers. The backing paper is from a beautiful pad by Lucy Cromwell - it's just lush. I've used a Dovecraft paper doily which is coloured with Pan Pastels. The border is cut with a Martha Stewart punch and stamped with another stamp from the Born To Shop set. The fabric flowers were in a box on the windowsill right in front of me and they fitted in well. They did have green leaves but looked awful when I stuck them on so I've unstuck them and removed the leaves - much better.

Try Something New at Joanna Sheen

This is my card for the Joanna Sheen challenge this week which is Try Something New. I've decided to have a go with my new Pan Pastels. There are some lovely colours available and it's difficult to choose but I'm very pleased with the colours I got and they are so easy to use. The image is from the Silhouette Sunday Morning set by Stamp Addicts which I've stamped in Versafine and embossed before adding the Pastels. The image is trimmed and layered up with a simple ribbon added. I'm quite pleased with the results and can see me becoming addicted to these pastels.

Bunting & Banners

That's the theme at Polka Doodles this week and I've gone for the bunting option. I've used an Emma Canning image called Summer Thank You which I was lucky enough to win. I've paper pieced her dress with a resized paper from the Pretty Sweet CD and coloured the rest of her with Promarkers. I've replaced her bouquet with one paper rose. The backing paper is the same as her dress but left larger. The bunting is made with a Stampin Up punch and the letters are Quickcutz dies. I've finished with some punched paper flowers and a stardust pen on the backing paper.
