Myth & Magic at Cardz 4 Guyz

Time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our theme is Myth & Magic. This could be legends, King Arthur, Robin Hood, Merlin, Harry Potter, Dragons, Sourcerers, Magic Potions, Unicorns - you get the idea

For my card I've followed this layout from Friday Sketch

I've gone with a cute dragon by Wild Rose Studio called Party Fergus and coloured him with Promarkers adding texture to him by dabbing the blender pen. The papers are from an old KandCo pack called Hopscotch

To The Moon & Back

The theme at this weeks CD Sunday challenge is To The Moon & Back. The image for my card comes from The Pamela West Collection CD. I just love the cats on this CD and this is one of my favourites. The backing paper is from a Beautiful Blues paperstack that I got in The Works. It's great value as you get 32 sheets for 99p and I was surprised at the quality for that price. The  flourishes are from the Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes die and the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards. A few flowers from my stash to finish. I'm also entering this into the C.R.A.F.T. challenge which is Cats & Dogs/Pets

Happy 3rd Birthay

The challenge at That Craft Place is to make a card for a child and the Daring Cardmakers challenge is Childs Play. For my card I've used a Clipart Fairy image and this sketch at CRAFT

The backing paper is from the Dovecraft Tea Party pack which goes so well with the image. The border is a Marianne die with ribbon thread through. I've punched some pink card flowers and added some cupcakes from the backing paper to the centres. A Craftwork Cards greeting to finish

I just adore this new Wild Rose Studio stamp and was lucky enough to be at Kraft Crazy in Amesbury when the stock came in as she sold out very quickly. I've coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out with Nesties. The background paper is from Dovecrafts Garden Party pad and the sentiment is stamped onto another paper from the pack with Stampin Ups Itty Bitty Banner set. A few perals on the flags, a gem in her hair and Stickles on the candles to finish. I'm entering this into the following challenges

It's a picture inspiration this week at CRAFT and this is the picture

For my card I've used Fergus With Bouquet by Wild Rose Studio and I've coloured him with Promarkers. The backing paper is also by Wild Rose Studio and I can't remember what make the sentiment is. The little flower is a Nellie Snellen punch.

A Little Carried Away

Yes, I got carried away with the CRAFT challenge which is Christmas in March. My proper Christmas stash is stored away somewhere in the back of the cupboard so I looked through my digi's and came across this lovely set by Pink Petticoat called Have an Ice Christmas. The only problem was I couldn't choose which image to use as there are 12 in the set so I printed them all and now I've got 12 cards ready for Christmas or knowing my luck, I'll find them in the New Year! All very simple cards, cut and embossed with a square Nestie, coloured with Promarkers, matted onto card with some glitter and ribbon or twine added

Happy Easter

Now I don't send Easter cards but I just couldn't resist these Forever Friends pearlescent decoupage sets as the Range had reduced them to 25p a set. You get two sheets each with 2 different decoupages on and lots of other little bits and as I only usually use one layer I get 8 cards from a pack. And some of them are suitable for non Easter occasions

I've only used one of the images from the decoupage - the lower image is from the A5 Spring Time paper pack. I'm not normally sure how to use these sheets with the ones with images on but as I had decided to make a stepper card, the paper was just perfect for the lower image. I've cut his ears out so they stick up above the lower level. I've added a little duck on the top image which came from another set and the sentiment is from the same set.

I also noticed on the C.R.A.F.T. blog the link for Post Pals so this card will be sent off to one of the children although how I'm supposed to choose one I just don't know

Sense Of Time

This is another card using an idea from Julia Dunnit's Grunge workshop at Kraft Crazy and I've followed the sketch at Seize The Birthday

 I've used a page from an old book and put it through the Bug with a cogs embossing folder. I've then highlighted the embossing with Tumbled Glass distress ink and the edges of the page with Broken China. I've then gone over the edges with some turquoise Perfect Perarls. A final touch is a spray and flick with some Rich Gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist. The clock is from a set by Stampin Up called A Sense Of Time and I've stamped it with Broken China. I've then used a cracked glass mask over it with versamark and used some pearl Perfect Pearls although it doesn't show up in the picture. I've cut it out with the large Spellbinders Cogs die and added some gold foil touches. The sentiment is from the same stamp set again stamped in Broken China. I've used the smaller cog dies on scraps of various gold mirror card then sanded them to take off the brightness. These have been placed across the card and the centres of one of the smallest cogs have been placed in the four corners

Cute As A Button

That's the theme at this weeks Cuttlebug Spot challenge. I've used the pram from Stampin Up's Bundle of Love set and stamped it with Memento London Fog to give a softer outline, coloured it with Promarkers and die cut it with a Marianne die. The button backing paper is from a Forever Friends pad. I've added buttons for wheels which were cut in the bug with a Stampin Up Embosslits die and used the same die for the corner buttons. A ribbon and sentiment and the card is finished. I'm also entering this into the CRAFT recipe challenge which is 1 circle, two squares, a sentiment and ribbon

Eline's Mailbox Owl

The challenge at CRAFT this week is Christmas. Now, I had put all my Christmas stash away but then bought the Eline's Mailbox Owl in the sale and the Marianne Cosy Christmas paper jumped into my basket. I've coloured the image with Promarkers and cut with Nesties. I've tried to follow the sketch at Sketch n Stash but totally ignored the optional love theme although I do love owls so maybe that counts!

The image was quite large for the sketch but I think I've managed all the layers. The sentiment ticket is by Stampin Up  and cut with the matching punch. I've added some Aleene's Glitter Snow which has been sat on the shelf for years and has finally been opened and I found the buttons when I was having a sort out and thought they went well. Now I just have to find a safe place to put it for the next 10 months!

Get Well

This stamp is from a Stampin Up set called Ain't Love Grand which is a retired hostess gift. This set has six mini stamps each with their own greeting and are really useful for quick and simple cards. I've coloured the umbrella with backing Promarkers and added some glossy accents on the rain. The backing paper was left over from making an owl card last month. I'm entering this card into the CRAFT challenge which is Bandage/Get Well/Sympathy. Again, not a very good picture, I'll try another one tomorrow if the weather is any better.
