So Sorry It's Time To Go

Yes, it's the last challenge at Technique Time Tuesday and I am really sad that it is not continuing as I have got to try lots of new things since I found this challenge. I'm only just scraping in with my card - I've been thinking about it all month and knew I wanted to do a card to say goodbye to the fabulous Mynn and all the girls but couldn't think what. Then I decided to use a couple of techniques that I got to try through the blog. The backgrounds , butterfly and dragonfly are cut from some card coloured with the shaving foam marbelling technique with Glimmer Mists. The flower is made using the Dhalia fold technique and the computer generated sentiment uses the faux frame technique. You can just about make out the glimmer mists in the last picture

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Mynn and the team for their great inspiration over the past months I have been joining in and wish you all well for the future x

Cuttlebug Mania Colour Challenge

It's time for another challenge at Cuttlebug Mania and this week we have a colour challenge for you. We would like to see soft pink, lavender, soft orange and white on your creations

I've gone for a clean and simple look for my card

I've used the Memory Box Hello die cut from the white layer so that the orange show through. The butterflies are cut from snippets with Joy Craft dies and brushed with clear Wink of Stella which you can just about see in the picture below

I'm taking this over to Pixie's Snippets Playground and entering it into Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge but not sure if it's blingy enough

Of course, having cut out the Hello, I had the letters left over from the white card and I didn't want to loose them so I made another card for the challenge using the sketch from Less Is More

The same butterfly dies and the Memory Box Large Circle Burst die

It's Jan's turn to choose our theme this week at Cardz 4 Guyz and she has chosen Time. This is is one of my go to stamp sets for masculine cards - Stampin Up's Sense of Time. Now I normally use this in shades of brown but today decided to go with black and cream adding a little colour with the backing paper and glossy accents on the inset piece

We'd love to see what you come up with but please remember to make your creations masculine

Charming Modern Whimsy

The current challenge at The Technique Twist is Modern Whimsy and I thought it would go well with the Butterfly Challenge which is Charmed. I wasn't sure about this technique as it's not really my style and I don't even know if this will qualify but I do like to play along. It was also a good opportunity to use up lots of bits from my die snippets box where I've cut things for other cards and they didn't quite go right so I'm also going to play along at Pixie's Snippets Playground (the first time in ages). The pink mats are only partial squares so I couldn't mat them straight but I quite like them at an angle

Something Old - Something New at CD Sunday

This weeks challenge at CD Sunday is Something Old, Something New and it doesn't have to be a wedding card. I've gone masculine and used my new Fabulous Fella's CD by Katy Sue Designs. I must admit I was a little disappointed in this CD at first glance but thought I'd give it a go. I've followed this sketch from Seize The Sketch

I've rotated the sketch and used an embossing folder and papers for the background with some card candi to finish

Cuttlebug Mania Easter Challenge

It's Easter this weekend so that's the theme for our Cuttlebug Mania Challenge but we have a twist and we want to see an egg on your project

I don't really do Easter but I do have the Eggstra Spectacular stamp set by Stampin Up so I've used the egg from that and a free embossing folder

So pop over and join in the challenge and don't forget to tell us how you've used you die cutting machine

Cardz 4 Guyz - The Sky's The Limit

It's Tuesday so we have another challenge for you at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week it was my turn to pick the theme and I chose The Sky's The Limit. Now I chose this some time ago and when it came to making my card - I just couldn't think. It was probably because I had so many ideas. There was a cute little boy with his kite from Joanna Sheen's Faye Whittaker CD and a great hot air balloon stamp by Indogo Blu. Not forgetting some lovely bird stamps that I have. But I've gone with a Stampin Up set called Ain't Love Grand. I was going to colour the image but I liked the look of it just stamped in blue. The embossing folder is also by Stampin Up. The paper is by Papermania and I thought the little hearts went well with the image

So don't forget to pop over and see what the other girls have come up with and let us see your masculine makes

CD Sunday - Something Beginning With "D"

This weeks challenge at CD Sunday is Something Beginning With "D". There are so many possibilities for this and I thought about all the cute dogs on the Furry Friends CD but wanted something different so I've come up with D is for Danger with this great image from The Best of LaPashe 2012

Number It At Cardz 4 Guyz

We have a new challenge for you at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week we want to see your masculine creations with numbers. You can have a single number or lots. The number can be the focal point or the background, whatever you want. I've followed this sketch from Friday Sketch

I've used  the Woodware Number Background stamp with clear embossing powder on the brown card. The green panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Number Collage folder and for the strip across I've used one of the Cuttlebug Measure Up small folders. The image is by Inkadinkado. I just love this little creatures as they come with their own sentiment

Spring At Last Butterfly Challenge

The theme over at the Butterfly Challenge is Spring at Last although looking out of the window today you wouldn't know it. Mrs A wanted to see yellow on our cards but I wasn't sure whether to do the background or butterfly in yellow and then I remembered the challenge at the Technique Twist and thought I'd combine the two. The technique they are using is the Masking Tape technique which I've never heard of but there's a link to a great video for it if you want to have a go.

I wasn't sure how to twist this one so I thought I'd just do the basic technique. But I think my Distress Ink pads are too juicy as I ended up with a lot more colour on my card than the tutorial seemed to and the ink stayed wet so my twist is that I added glitter to the wet ink. Of course it wasn't as simple as that as once the ink dried, the glitter would have fallen off so I topped it with a double sided adhesive and then some acetate. My Butterfly is a Marianne Design stamp and die set which I've covered with clear Wink of Stella

April Fools Day at Cuttlebug Mania

It's time for another challenge at Cuttlebug Mania and we're celebrating April Fools Day so we want to see your funny creations or something to make us smile. Our sponsor this time is the lovely Digi Scarp Kits and they have a great download for the winner

My image and sentiment are from the Born To Shop range, cut and layered onto Nesties. The backing paper is from a Dovecraft basics paper pack - these are fantastic value but still good quality. I've added a ribbon with a Joy Craft die as a buckle

Don't forget to pop over to Cuttlebug Mania to see what the other girls have come up with  and when you load your project, remember to tell us how you've used your die cutting machine

Cardz 4 Guyz - Make Us Laugh

Well it's April Fool's Day here in the UK so for our new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz we want to see your creations to make us laugh but remember it has to be suitable for a guy

For my card, I've used an image and backing paper from The Wine Buffs Christmas Spirit CD and the sentiment is from Dyan Reaveleys Christmas Words set
