Stampin' Up! Bauble

I made this for a challenge by my Stampers 10 demonstrator. Toni sent us one 6x6 sheet of paper for us to use however we wanted. This is what I came up with:

I cut the sheet into 1cm strips and glued together in alternating sides, then added some stickles and beads. I was quite pleased with how it turned out but think I would make the strips shorter than 6inches if I made another.

In Memory of Layton Digi Stamps

When I bought these images from Jak at Crafters Kitchen in aid of Menigitis Research, I didn't intend to use them. Then I realised that this would be a travesty as they are both lovely images.

So this is the card made from Jim Harker's image in memory of little Layton John Cleaver:

I used my new Stampin' Up! pastels to colour and SU card, paper and greeting given to me by Toni.

This is my card with Mo's image:

Again coloured with Stampin' Up! pastels, Kanban card and Darkroom Door greeting.

Don't forget to pop over to Crafter's Kitchen to buy your images for this great cause.

Black and White

I got this layout after attending a craft class and just had to have this Penny Black stamp

Side Step Forest Friends

I made this for my niece's Birthday next week but also for this months challenge on the imag-e-nation website. I wanted to use the Forest Friends stamps from Stampin Up but wasn't sure what layout to use. This worked just perfectly. Also used Coredinations cardstock which is great as there are so many shades of each colour. The verse is just computer printed and the fence is an Impress die

I've been a bad blogger

and several people have pointed it out! So to show that I am still alive, here are a couple of cards:

This was made for a girl at work using a Forever Friends sticker and Nesties. The corners are embossed using a brass stencil but don't show up too well

The stamp is Raining Daisy's by Penny Black. The stamp was used like this in a class I went to at the Glitter Pot with Gaynor White some while ago and of course I had to buy it.

My First Stampin' Up! Card

This was made with my first ever Stampin' Up! stamps - the Forest Friends set. I used the tree as a background stamp and the lovely deer stamp. The fence is a Impress die - a bargain for £1.99 at the Range

Artstamps show at Newbury

Had a great day yesterday at the craft show at Newbury with Crafty Pat. I got a few bargains but the best was a free stamp set from Little Claire. I'd asked them if they could desugn some more little bee stamps and they have done - really cute ones. Their project club this month is also based around bees http://www.littleclaire.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ID=574

I did go a little bit mad on the spending front yesterday - but hey, it's payday next week so I won't have to starve for long! Here's a picture of what I bought:

Flippin Men - Walkies

I made this for a friend of Derrick's. They go walking every week and the walks are always based around a pub or two. I scanned the map of their favorite walk as a background and use the decoupage on an acetate wrap. The inside of the card reads "... there's always another pub!"

Happy Birthday Andy

My May cat shot

This is Buddy. He's not our cat - he just thinks he is! He left home and turned up at our house but a disabled lady a couple of doors away wanted him but he had fleas and she was prone to bites which made her already swollen legs balloon. Between us we got rid of the fleas and he moved in with her. However, he's still waiting on the doorstep for his breakfast at 5am and comes for his supper at 10pm and a couple of times in between if we are about! Here he is making his bed in a shoe box lid

I can't believe ....

... I've not blogged for so long! I thought 'd better get at least one on in the Month of May. This card is one I made for the humorous/cheery challenge on the imag-e-nation forum. I love this stamp from littleclaire.co.uk and this is a card made for hubby from his sister.

The papers are DCWV and the image coloured using Promarkers from Joanna Sheen

Colour Create Challenge - Black, White and Pink

I wanted to make a card for a friend who is quite girly so I made it with the Colour Create challenge in mind http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/2009/04/week-twelve-black-white-and-pink.html

I used my new Clare Curd stamps and some Anna Stemplewska papers. I've not seen these papers since I bought them at the beginning of last year so have been reluctant to use them!

No Patterned Paper

I found this post in my drafts from back in April. The card was made for Clare's challenge on the Docrafts blog is to use no patterned papers and also a challenge on the imag-e-nation site. I used two of Hobby Arts Scene It stamps and Whispers pens to watercolour. The greeting is a Woodware stamp (Tiny Phases) on a Nesties label.

Just in time

for Daisy and Dandelion March/April Challenge http://daisyanddandelion.blogspot.com/2009/03/d-craft-challenge.html

I used a Marshmallow sticker and co-ordinating Core'dinations cardstock with Daisy and Dandelion paper. I thought it would be suitable for a male.

I've just got hold of the next Creativity leaflet and the new Daisy and Dandelion products and they look great. Can't wait until May.

I made this for a friends Birthday using Clare Curd's Doodle stamps and some free backing paper that came with Making Cards magazine. The design was taken roughly from a card I saw on Pickles Blog http://aloadofoldpickle.blogspot.com/ although it doesn't look a lot like hers.
I don't normally do Girly cards and wasn't sure how it would turn out but I was quite pleased with it. I wasn't keen on this stamp set until I saw Becky use it at the demo at the new shop in Southampton. I must stop going to these demo's as they are hard on the purse!

Millie's Favorite Sleeping Place

Well, as I've renamed this blog Cards and Cats, I suppose I should show you a picture of a cat. So here's Millie in her favorite sleeping place - the top stair!

You wouldn't believe she's got 5 cat beds around the house.

Crafters Kitchen Candy

Jak has some very sweet candy on offer until midnight Monday. Take a look http://crafterskitchen.blogspot.com/2009/03/blog-candy-give-away.html

You could wish her a Happy Birthday for Monday while you're there.

Another card!

Well I thought it was about time! This one was made for someone at work using Stamps Happen "It's only a Game" stamp, coloured mostly with The Works Pearl Paints and some card candy from Craftwork Cards. When I get cleverer I'll post links to the companies but for now you'll just have to google them!

OMG! What have I done

Must be the wine but somehow I seem to have created a blog! There seems to be so much lovely blog candy and card challenges out there that I realised I needed a blog. Can't see myself posting regularly - may not even get to publishing but it seems a lot easier than making a website.

Well, I thought I'd start off on a good footing and post a card:

I made this for MIL to give to her hairdresser. The image is Dotty and George by Louise and Papermania paper.
