Spring At Last Butterfly Challenge

The theme over at the Butterfly Challenge is Spring at Last although looking out of the window today you wouldn't know it. Mrs A wanted to see yellow on our cards but I wasn't sure whether to do the background or butterfly in yellow and then I remembered the challenge at the Technique Twist and thought I'd combine the two. The technique they are using is the Masking Tape technique which I've never heard of but there's a link to a great video for it if you want to have a go.

I wasn't sure how to twist this one so I thought I'd just do the basic technique. But I think my Distress Ink pads are too juicy as I ended up with a lot more colour on my card than the tutorial seemed to and the ink stayed wet so my twist is that I added glitter to the wet ink. Of course it wasn't as simple as that as once the ink dried, the glitter would have fallen off so I topped it with a double sided adhesive and then some acetate. My Butterfly is a Marianne Design stamp and die set which I've covered with clear Wink of Stella

  1. I had not heard of that technique either. The video explained it well I thought. I love the sentiment which is so true! The shade of yellow is just right for your card and blends perfectly against your butterfly. Thank you for fluttering by #4. Hugs Mrs A. (butterfly challenge).
