Flight at Cardz 4 Guyz

Time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our theme is Flight. Rather than an aeroplane, I've gone for a bird in flight. I've used two Hobby Art sets, In The Country and Inspirations. The background is done with Pan Pastels - I love how it looks on linen card

Cardz 4 Guyz - Football

We've got a new challenge for you today and this week we want to see Football on your projects. I did get out my Wild Rose Studio Football Lad stamp out but then decided to go for something else as a lot of the team have gone down the cute boys route. My image is a Kanban topper mounted onto white card and then onto a black card blank. The letters are cut with my Curlie Girlie alphabet from kraft cardstock as are the card candi

We'd love to see what you come up with for this challenge

Music Note & Butterfly

I've dabbled in book folding but up till now I've only done the easy ones such as a Christmas tree, hedgehog and bird cage. This is my first try at following a pattern and as it wasn't too many folds I thought it was a good place to start. I sat out in the garden to mark the pages before folding them and was amazed when I had finished that it actually looked like a music note. I've covered it with lilac butterfly paper from Papermanis's Lucy Cromwell collection and cut a butterfly with some snippets of card. I actually cut quite a few but decided to go with just the one. The top left hand corner was slightly curled which I quite liked so curled all 4 corners properly. I may add something to the front but I'm not sure yet

I'm entering this into The Butterfly Challenge (Music Note) and Pixie's Snippets Playground

The pattern I used is from Hana's Etsy shop. If you want to have a go there are free ones on her Facebook page (Crafty Hana's Book Folding Patterns) and lots of helpful members if you get stuck

Musical Notes

I had a disastrous day at craft class yesterday. We were supposed to be making 3 different stepper cards and for the life of me I couldn't get the measurements right even though they were written out for me! I just had to give up in the end as I was wasting too much card. So I've gone for something very simple today. The new theme at the Butterfly Challenge is Music Notes. Although a simple card, this is the second attempt as the first one the music notes were too high. I'm also entering this into the Less Is More challenge which is Predominantly Black

Super Hero At Cardz 4 Guys

Time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week and Andrea has chosen the theme Super Hero. I was a bit stuck for this but then remembered a Kanban kit I've had for yonks so got that out. I've followed this layout from Sketch Saturday

I've used my new embossing folder and die set that I bought when I was in the Netherlands in February cutting some bricks from gold mirror card for the corners and centre piece

We'd love to see what you come up with for this challenge and don't forget, you creation can be suitable for any age as long as it's masculine

C is for Corners

The current Butterfly Challenge is C is for Corners. As usual I had an idea what to do when the challenge first came out but it's taken over a week to put it into practice! The butterfly die is one of my oldest but still a favourite and I've cut it out of blue vellum and a purple shimmer vellum before layering it onto a snippet of the linen card. I've used my Stampin Up pricking template for the corners. The background is my first play with the Gelatos I had for Christmas! I started with a piece of the linen card that I made the card base out of and just swiped the Gelatos across it before blending them with water. I then made some of it into paint to do the corners with a circle stencil before using some directly onto a stamp for the vines. The sentiment is tstamped onto another snippet of linen card so I'm going to take this over to Pixies Snippets Playground

I was pleased how it turned out especially as it's not watercolour card. The metallic of the purple hasn't shown in the picture but you can see it on the card. I'll definitely be playing with them again soon
