C is for Corners

The current Butterfly Challenge is C is for Corners. As usual I had an idea what to do when the challenge first came out but it's taken over a week to put it into practice! The butterfly die is one of my oldest but still a favourite and I've cut it out of blue vellum and a purple shimmer vellum before layering it onto a snippet of the linen card. I've used my Stampin Up pricking template for the corners. The background is my first play with the Gelatos I had for Christmas! I started with a piece of the linen card that I made the card base out of and just swiped the Gelatos across it before blending them with water. I then made some of it into paint to do the corners with a circle stencil before using some directly onto a stamp for the vines. The sentiment is tstamped onto another snippet of linen card so I'm going to take this over to Pixies Snippets Playground

I was pleased how it turned out especially as it's not watercolour card. The metallic of the purple hasn't shown in the picture but you can see it on the card. I'll definitely be playing with them again soon

  4. Your background is absolutely gorgeous! For your first play with Gelatos you certainly had a success! I love your butterfly - you mentioned it's your oldest die but I'm not familiar with this one - it's lovely! I really like how you pierced the corners - great take on the C for Corners theme!

  6. I have just purchased some linen card and used it fie the first time yesterday. I'm really impressed with the texture and feel to it. I love the colours you used on your card and the gorgeous effect it has created on the butterfly. I must Getty Gelatos out for a play too. I buy these must haves and then they get forgotten when the next must have comes long!! Thankyou for fluttering by my 27. Hugs Mrs A.
