Something Beginning With M at Cardz 4 Guyz

It;s time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our theme is Something Beginning With M. My M is Mistletoe and I've used a stamp from Stampin Up's Easy Events set. This is a great set for quick CAS cards and all the images are super easy to colour.  I've quite a few masculine Christmas cards to make so it's good to get ahead. A very simple card with Glossy Accents added to the berries and some hand made card candi

We'd love to see what you come up with for this challenge but please make sure your creation is suitable for a male

And don't forget that our sister blog Cardz 4 Galz launches on Thursday 1st October. Would be great to see you there

No Squares at Cuttlebug Mania

Our new challenge at Cuttlebug Mania is No Squares.

Our sponsor this time is

This was quite a challenge for me as most of my cards are square and then I remembered I had some shaped card blanks. I drew around this one on white card and then trimmed around to make a mat for the light purple card. The sentiment is from an older Hobby Art set called Flower Bear. The flowers are cut from snippets of dark purple card and centered with gems

Kraft and Blue at Cardz 4 Guyz

Hi everyone. Time for another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week our theme is Kraft and Blue. For my card I've used the Huge Santa stamp by Woodware and stamped on to some Lili of The Valley Krafty Christmas paper. The blue snowflake paper is from my stash. I did put some blue mirror card snowflakes in the corners but it just looked wrong so I've punched some white ones and stuck them over

We'd love to see what you come up with but please make sure you creation is suitable for a male

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge Coming Soon

It's now only 2 weeks until the Cardz 4 Galz challenge blog launches it's first challenge so make sure you come over on 1st October

As a pre-launch, Caz is introducing the design team during September and has asked us to make a card using our Favourite Things. This is so difficult as my favourite thing is usually the last thing I purchased so I have gone with Texture as my favourite thing. I've used a flower loom to make the three daisies for my texture on this card

I'm also entering this into the Butterfly Challenge which is Y is for Yarn

Embossing at Cardz 4 Guyz

Our theme this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is Embossing - wet or dry. For my card I've used a Hero Arts stamp called Winter Scene which I borrowed from a friend. I've stamped it with Majestic Blue Versafine and embossed with clear powder. I've then inked the sky with Tumbled Glass DI. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Heard From The Heart set

We'd love to see what you emboss for this challenge but please make sure your creation is suitable for a male

Wheels for Cuttlebug Mania

Wow, we had a super number of entries for our first challenge after our summer break and there were some lovely creations - we're certainly going to have a tough time choosing a top 3

Our new challenge theme is Wheels so we want to see something with wheels on your creation. And for this challenge we are sponsored by http://www.adayfordaisies.com/

I've made a gap card and the Joanna Sheen motorbike die is my bridge. It's cut in silver mirror card which as usual doesn't show up in the picture. I've also cut a black on to go on the inside of the card to make it more stable. The black panel at the bottom is embossed with a Cuttlebug Diamond Plate folder which you can see better in the second photo. Some card Candi in the corner and on the wheels to finish

3 of Something At Cardz 4 Guyz

Our new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is 3 of Something. This is from a Kanban topper sheet that is years old - I'm trying to use all the part sheets I have left and I thought this would be ideal for my cousin's Birthday. The 40th is cut with Papermania's Carnival dies and the Happy Birthday are Tattered Lace dies - a very quick card

We'd love to see what you come up with - it can be 3 of anything!

A is for Archway at The Butterfly Challenge

The current theme at The Butterfly Challenge is A is for Archway. For my archway I've used a Poppy Stamps Die - Small Gothic Arch and I must admit this is the first time it's been out of the packet! The background is embossed with a Tattered Lace butterfly embossing folder. The butterflies are from a Robert Adams set of 3 small dies. These were a bought on a whim but they've become my most used butterflies

Oh Christmas Tree - Sparkles Christmas Challenge

It's the start of a new month so we've got a new challenge for you at Sparkles Christmas Challenge and this time our theme is Oh Christmas Tree

I've used the Woodware Bubble Blooms Festive Tree which I embossed with Wow pearl gold powder. I got out all my gold coloured gems and Card Candi and set to play. The first ones to go on were some of the larger Papermania Dew Drops but I got carried away and that ended up being all I used on it. The sentiment is from a Paula Pascual set called Christmas Essentials

We're looking forward to seeing what your Christmas tree will be

Welcome Back To Cuttlebug Mania

The Cuttlebug Mania challenge is back and we've got an easy one to start you off - Anything Goes

For this challenge we are sponsored by Craftie-Charlie

I've gone for a CAS look using two dies from Impression Obsession. The main panel and two corner squares are mounted  on foam pads. The white ones are cut from scrap and placed using the waste from another card although they don't look straight in the photo!. The white squares and the corner ones are all coated in glossy accents although it doesn't show up
