Quirky Crafts Challenge 24

This is my first entry to the Quirky Crafts Challenge. Lyn from Spyder's Corner has left a couple of hints on my blog so I thought I'd have a go. Unfortunatley I've left t a bit late so it's a very quick card. The base is embossed in the Bug and the trees are from a Kanban set. A strip of scrap card at the bottom and a ribbon from my top!

Less Is More Week 44

The theme this week at Less Is More is the colour GREEN and there are some beautiful entries already. For my card I've used the Creative Expressions holly mask. I've inked it with peeled paint distress ink and put it thought the cuttlebug so the leaves are debossed and coloured at the same time. A simple Personal Impressions sentiment matted with Stampin Up punches.

Sketch N Stash Challenge 75

This is my entry for the Sketch N Stash challenge. The image is from a Forever Friends cd which I've had about a year but not used. It's only now I've got a desktop that I'm even looking at all the cd's I have. As it's for my nephew, I didn't want to add flowers so I've used the bird from the image in the top right corner of the sketch. The base card is again stamped with Wild Rose Studio snowflakes.

Cutie Pie Challenge # 6 - Pastel

The theme of The Cutie Pie challenge this time is Pastel Christmas. The stamp is from a freebie Just For You set with a magazine. I've coloured it with Promarkers and layered it with nesties. The base card is stamped with Wild Rose Studio snowflakes and a ribbon added to the side.

Less Is More Week 43 - A Bit Of Bling

This is my entry for the Less Is More Challenge 43 which is a Bit of Bling. I've used the mistletoe stamp from Stampin Up's Easy Event set stamped in Wild Wasabi and matted with nesties. The corners are cut with a corner punch with some gems added in the berry holes. More bling added in the form of berries for the mistletoe. I wasn't sure about this set at first but I think I'll be using it a lot

Less Is More Week 42 - Silhouettes

Week 42 at Less is More and the theme is Silhouettes. For my first card  I've cut the three reindeer from the Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge. The greeting is computer generated and the lines are Papermania glitter stickers. There are tiny red gems on the noses of the reindeer but you have to look closely.

My second card is another reindeer - this year Dasher by Stampin Up. Stamped in black ink and embossed then matted onto black card. Another computer generated greeting and finished off with some Diamond Dust. This is my second attempt at this card. The first one I did some pricking in the top corners before adding the glitter but it was too much so I had another go and definitely think it looks better - less is more after all!

My third card is not really an entry as it doesn't fit the definition of the a silhouette but it was inspired by the challenge. It's an American stamp which is stamped and embossed in black on yellow/gold card and layered on black card. The greeting is by Wild Rose Sudio from the Girly Greetings set

Less Is More Leaves Take 3

No computer used for my third entry to the Less Is More Leaves challenge. For this one I have used a mask to emboss the holly leaf frame. The greeting is from Stampin Up's Delightful Dozen set and the card is finished with some ribbon.

Less Is More Leaves Take 2

Another computer generated card. I found the sentiment in a book and wanted to make a card to suit it for the Less Is More LEAVES challenge. I've drawn the flower in Word using the autoshapes line tool and filled it with a picture of leaves. I added a small circle to the flower centre and filled with the same leaf picture but lightened it slighty. I was really pleased with this as it shows what you can do in basic programmes such as Word and that you don't need expensive software to design cards

Less Is More Week 41

I was so pleased when I saw the Less Is More challenge this week. I've been struggling to come up with a leaving card I've been asked to make - "non fussy" for someone who likes nature. The theme this week is LEAVES and it must be a one layer card. Perfect. The font is called A Yummy Apology but I'm not sure where it's from. I've added a shadow to the sentiment and to the leafy corner. A little bit corny but I was pleased with the result.

In response to Chrissie - yes, the leaves are computer generated

Cutie Pie Challenge #4

This is my entry for the 4th Cutie Pie challenge. The challenge this time was to use a charm. I started with an image I found in my toppers drawer but I've no idea where it came from. The butterflies are a Stampin Up embosslit die. The backing paper is from an old set by Papermania and the charm is from my stash.

Less Is More - Fireworks Take 2

This is my second entry for the Less Is More Fireworks challenge. I started when I found the ribbon in my stash and found some card to match. The butterflies are from Stampin Up's Beautiful Wings embosslit and the sentiment is from Thank You Kindly.

Less Is More Week 40 - Fireworks

It's a Colour challenge this week at Less Is More and they have chosen
Red and Orange  to reflect fireworks. For my cards I have chosen the obvious leaves as I wanted to use my new Tim Holtz decorative strip called Fall Garland. I've roughly inked an A4 sheet of paper with various Distress inks and cut the leaves randomly. The sentiment is from a set called Autumn Harvest by The Paper Company and is stamped with Desert Sand Kaleidacolor ink pad.

Peas

This is a card I've made for a friends son - he's 32 but loves aliens so it should be ok. The image is by Spyder and I think it's suitable for any age. Coloured with Promarkers. If you don't know about Spyders wonderful images, pop over to her store and have a look around. I'd also advise you to follow her other blog - Spyders Corner - as she kindly gives away freebies most weeks.

Less Is More Week 39 - Stars

Week 39 at Less Is More and the theme is Stars. My first card is based on a card I did at a Glitter Pot class with Paula Pascal. A portion of the card is cut away and the resulting gap is linked with stars. The stars were very difficult to photograph as they are holographic. I had intended to cut them on my Cricut but when I went to use it, it was dead!. I'm hoping it's just the cable although sourcing that is proving very difficult as mine is the original one and the newer ones have a different connection. The design of this card works well with lots of things - flowers, butterflies, hearts.

My second card is using a Pollycraft image called Moon Lullaby but it does also have stars on. I've coloured lightly with watercolour pencils but not used any water. The sentiment is computer generated

Cutie Pie Challenge # 3

The Cutie Pie challenge no 3 is a recipe of the following:

Lilac/Silver Tones
Fairy Image
Lace/Ribbon
Glitter
Buttons/Flowers

Well I don't really do fairys so I hope this is cute enough. It's a free download at Papercraft Inspirations by Angela Poole which I've coloured her with promarkers and used Glamour Dust on her wings and wand. I've gone over the stars with a silver stardust pen although like the silver mirri card it doesn't show in the photo. I found some lilac flower buttons in my stash but they were too plain so I've added glamour dust to them too and finished with some sparkly silver ric rac for the ribbon.

Less Is More Week 38 - Polka Dots

A very quick card for this weeks Less is More challenge which is Polka Dots. The sentiment is computer printed and the flowers are a Nellie Snellen flower punch and emboss set with a stamen punch in the middle. The papers are Dovecraft Back to Basics range.

Wednesday 19 October 2011

Less Is More Week 37 - Cocktail

This is my entry for the Less Is More challenge this week - the theme is Cocktail. I've used a stitching pattern which is designed as a bookmark but suits the CAS theme. The greeting is from Stampin Up's Heard From The Heart set stamped in Brilliance starlight silver. Not easy to get a picture being silver on white.

Less Is More Week 36 - Hearts

I've had a good play in the craft room today so I've got three cards for this weeks Less Is More challenge which is Hearts.

The first uses the box from Stampin Up set Out of the Box (retired) stamped in Real Red. most of the hearts are from a Inkadinkado mini set Heart Flutter but the Love heart is from I (heart) Hearts Stampin Up set. It's finished with a knotted ribbon at the top:

The second card uses the Inkadinkado Heart Flutter bird, hearts and sentiment - again with a simple ribbon at the top:

My third card uses a Penny Black stamp called So Much Love with some embossed lines above and below. I think this would have been better as a straight edged card so may trim it of later!

Less Is More Week 35 - The Colour of Your Eyes

Week 35 and the theme at Less Is More is The Colour of Your Eyes. My eyes are blue but not quite the blue of this card unfortunately. The stamp and sentiment are by from the Widerness set by Darkroom Door stamped in Versafine. I've added glamour dust to the image and pricked the corners to finish.

Cutie Pie Challenge # 2 - Bingo Board

This is my entry for the second challenge at Cutie Pie which is based on the bingo board below:

I've gone for the straight line on the right with a charm, something with wings and ribbon or lace. The image is a digi stamp by Whoopsi Daisy Designs coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Bloom & Grow by My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is by Pink Gem. The charm, ribbon and lace from my stash

Sketch N Stash Challenge 71 take 2

This was going to be my original entry for the Sketch N Stash Challenge 71 but I couldn't post it straight away as it was her Birthday at the weekend.

I've used a Bild Malarna stamp which I bought at the craft show at Westpoint Exeter last week. I've coloured it with Promarkers. The papers are by Wild Rose Studio, trimmed with a STampin Up punch. The butterflies are a Stampin Up Cut & Emboss sizzlet cut from vellum

Sketch N Stash Challenge 71

I made a card for Sketch N Stash challenge71 yesterday then realised I can't add it to my blog yet as it's for someones Birthday next week so I've made another one today. The image is my new stamp Cricket Boy by Wild Rose Studio coloured with Promarkers. The backing papers are Wild Rose Studio too. The buttons are Papermania but I had to raid my wardrobe to find some brown ribbon to thread through them!

Christmas Cuddles

This is for the Cutie Pie Challenge which is a sketch. I've used the Wild Rose Studio stamp Christmas Cuddles coloured with Promarkers with glitter added to the hats. I was adamant that I wouldn't buy any Christmas stamps this year but when I saw this I just had to have it.

Less Is More Week 34

The Less Is More challenge this week is a sketch and it's a great one - so simple but the examples shown are very effective. For my card I've used Dusty Concord to make a background using my ink dusters. The foliage stamps are from Stampin Up's Pocket Silhouettes set and the cat image is by Inkylicious. The sentiment is from a Wild Rose Studio set. Everything is stamped with Dusty Concord. Very simple.

Less Is More Week 33 - Anything Goes Take 2

My second card towards the attempt to get 1000 entries for this weeks Less Is More challenge. Those girls are going to be super busy this week.

For this card I've used the Stampin Up Spot On Wheel with a Big and Juicy Waterfall pad. This wheel is retiring at the end of the month. I've embossed a couple of lines above and below the spots. The circle sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set - Circle of Freindship. I'm also entering this in the Crafters Reuinited Inspirational Challenge this month which is Circles and Stripes

Less Is More Week 33 - Anything Goes

The girls at Less Is More have set a challenge to try and get 1000 entries for this weeks challenge. This is my first attempt. I've used the tree from Stampin Up's Contempo Christmas set to make the snowflake/star inked with a Brilliance Twilight pad. It's layered onto co-ordinating cardstock. The sentiment is from a set by Paula Pascaul.

Less Is More Week 32 - Seeing Double take 2

I was sorting digi images on my laptop today and came across a beautiful one that I thought would fit the Seeing Double theme for this weeks Less Is More challenge. I feel a bit of a cheat as the sentiment and border are also computer generated but I like the outcome. I placed the eyes and sentiment but felt it needed something more so added a black square around it which I then changed to blue to match the eyes. Originally I was going to have another black square around it but when I copied and pasted the blue square it offset and it looked good so I did it again and this is the result.

Sketch N Stash 70

This is my entry for Sketch N Stash Challenge 70 which is Free Choice of any of the previous sketches. I've chosen the sketch from challenge 42 as I've made a male card and didn't want it too fussy

It's a very simple card using retired Stampin Up set Computer Quips. This is a great set for men's cards and I was luck enough to get it second hand. Very light colouring with grey Promarkers and the papers are by
Wild Rose Studio. I've had these papers for ages and they just go on and on

Less Is More Week 32 - One Layer Card - Seeing Double

I wasn't supposed to be buying ANY Christmas stash this year but when I saw this Wild Rose Studio stamp I just had to have it. Hopefully it just about fits with the Seeing Double theme over at Less Is More this week.

I've stamped it with London Fog memento ink and coloured with promarkers. I've stamped the edge with a snowflake stamp.

Less Is More Week 31 - Metallic - Take 2

My second entry for this weeks Less Is More is a little more metallic than my first one. The cogs are a spellbinders die cut from mirri card. The card was too bright so I've added some alcohol inks to tone it down. I've done the same for the crown on the greeting which is computer generated. The sentiment is matted onto more inked mirri card but I couldn't get it to show.

Cards for My Niece and Nephew

I can't believe I've done it again this year. My niece's Birthday is on 5th September and my nephew's is 15th. Last year I sent Matthew's card to get there on 5th and Rebecca's to get there on 15th. And I've done the same this year! What a daft auntie. At least this year I've been able to change the greeting and insert on Rebecca's card.

For Mathew's card I've used a Digi Stamp Boutique image coloured with promarkes with Printavle Heaven backing paper. Mathew has recently left home and is getting into cooking and this is the most suitable image I had. The sentiment is computer generated.

For Rebecca's card I've used a Joanna Sheen image but I can't remember which CD. The papers are from Pink Petticoat. Becky breeds rabbits (among other things) so I thought this image would suit.

Less Is More Week 31 - Metallic

Week 31 at Less Is More and the theme is colour and the great girls have chosen Metallic. I wanted to make this a girlie card so I've used pinks and greens. The images and sentiment are all rub-ons from a kit I got ages ago. The sentiment was covered in metallic pink foil and the flowers pink and green glitter which is sort of metallic too :)

Less Is More Week 30 Take 2

This is my second card for the Take 3 Challenges at Less is More. For this card I've used the following weeks challenges:
Week 18 - Monochrome
Week 19 - In the Frame
Week 28 - Use Ink

I've used my new stamp set called Autumn Harvest by The Paper Company. I've used the small acorn and leaf to make a frame with the larger on in the centre with the sentiment. All stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine on cream card.

Less Is More Week 30

It's recipe time at Less Is More and this week's recipe is Take 3 Challenges. The ones I've gone for are:
Week 12 - Off Centre
Week 14 - White on White
Week 16 - Butterfly/Butterflies

I've used the Papermania butterfly punch on the side of the card and glittered it with diamond Stickles. The Thanks is cut on the Cricut and again glittered with diamond Stickles. A very simple card.
