I wanted to have another go at the Faux Silk technique which is this months challenge at Technique Time Tuesday and wanted to do something other than a background. So I thought of clothing and the Wild Rose Studio stamp Mia in Kimono came to mind. I used red tissue paper and stamped her with Versamark and embossed her with Stampendous Jewelled Gold powder. I wasn't sure if this would work but it was fine. I then stamped her again with Memento and coloured her with Promarkers then cut out her dress, parasol and flower and paper pieced them on top. I had to stamp the hands a third time to go on top of the kimono. I used another panel of red tissue and stamped it using Versmark and a stamp from Stampin Up's Hopeful Thoughts set and again embossed with the gold powder. I've also used a piece of gold mirror card and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Daisy pattern folder. The sentiment is from the WRS Mia in Kimono set and stamped in Brilliance Rocket Red and matted onto gold card. If you want to have a go at this technique, pop over to Technique Time Tuesday where Mynnette has a great video tutorial
I'm also entering this into the Quirky Crafts Challenge which is "It's a Quirky Small World" and the Paper Piecing challenge at C.R.A.F.T.

Baby Blue
This baby boy card is made following this layout from Sketch N Stash
I've used a gorgeous digi stamp that I bought this week from Crafts and Me and I'm entering it into their challenge which is Buttons & Bows. I'm also entering it into the Quirky Crafts challenge which is All About Boys with ric rac, buttons and a sentiment. I've coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted onto blue card. The backing paper and sentiment are from the Forever Friends Baby Ultimate kit. The ric rac, bow and buttons are from my stash

Bones
When I saw this challenge at Quirky Crafts was "a supernatural love story" I didn't think I would be entering. Then I had an idea and searched for an image to use and came up with this free clip art by Philip Martin. I've added the sentiment and printed it off and added some layering and a ribbon. I've added punched hearts to the corners and was going to finish with a smaller one in his hand but it fell on his chest and it looked better there so I left it

Mmmmm, Chocolate
Not that I eat the stuff myself you understand. I gave it up 12 years, 4 months, 13 days, 12 hours and 50 minutes ago - give or take - and I don't miss it one bit! It was in the hope that I'd loose some weight but that didn't work.
Anyway, Chocolate is the theme at Quirky Crafts at the moment and this is my entry. You're not allowed to use digi stamps for this challenge and the colours must be chocolate and cream. The stamp I've used is by Inkadinkado called Chocolate Therapy. I have quite a few of these mini sets and they are really useful and most come with their own sentiment. (I don't know why the sentiment is discoloured but it still stamps fine) The background paper is from a pad by Avec and I've added a few mini gems
