Last Polka Doodles Birthday Card

My 3rd card for  Polka Doodles 3rd birthday card using the Pretty Tough CD. I've used Claude from the cd and coloured him with Promarkers. Again I've used three papers and three buttons (twice) and the number 3 cut from one of the backing papers.

Beccy's Place May Challenge

My Mum always loved sunflowers so I've made this card for Beccy's May challenge using one of her sunflower digi images. I've printed it twice and coloured it with two distress inks - Wild Honey and Mustard seed - and layered them up. The sentiment is by Inkylicious and stamped in Wild Honey. The papers are an old K&Co pad. I think this was one of the first paper pads I ever bought so they're quite old. Luckily you get six of each so plenty left. I used the sketch from Sketch N Stash again as I sometimes struggle to put cards together.

Our Silver Anniversary

It's our silver anniversary on 8th June and we're going away for a few days so I wanted to get OH's card done early. I just love this image by Bugaboo and the wording inside is the sentiment that goes with it:

"I love being married, it's great to find that one special person you can annoy for the rest of your life"

I've coloured it with Promarkers and punched lots of hearts for the background. The heart is my new Marianne die.

I'm entering it to the Anything Goes challenge which is Anniversaries although not as lovey dovey as the design team cards! I'm also entering it into the Sketch N Stash challenge.

Another Polka Doodles Birthday Card

I decided to have another go at the Polka Doodles birthday challenge - this time using Sundae of Seasons. There are some beautiful papers on this CD as well as some very cute images. These bees are so sweet - three of them of course with three papers from the CD. I did add three buttons but they didn't look right so I've changed them to flowers which were cream but I've coloured lightly with Wild Honey distress ink - a perfect colour for the card. The sentiment is from the Sugarplum Daisy CD and I've coloured it with the Wild Honey distress ink.

Polka Doodles Third Birthday

Polka Doodles is celebrating it's third birthday this week and have a special challenge in addition to the normal weekly ones. The challenge is to make them a birthday card with 3 on it. For my card I've gone back to the first Polka Doodles CD I bought - I just couldn't resist the owls. Of course my card has three owls and I've also used three papers from the CD. I think the sentiment is from Pretty Sweet

Happy Birthday Polka Doodles.

Sweet 16

I've made this card for my cousin's daughter - it's her birthday on Saturday. It's a Kenny K image called Jasmine. I did try and find an image like this with camera but had no luck so I settled for this. I sat and coloured her with Promarkers in the garden yesterday. It was a lovely day but I had to sit in the shade as I din't want my pens drying out!

The main backing paper is from Nana's Kitchen by DCWV. When I cut the mat for the image, I used the wrong size Nestie and rather than waste it, I cut the right size out of the middle and used the remaining piece to frame the second paper which is from a Lucy Cromwell paper by Papermania. I only got this pad on Tuesday and it is beautiful - the colour tones are so soft. The 3 layered flowers are held together with brads. The ticket greeting is by Pink Gem and the 16 is cut on my Cricut.

I'm entering this card for the Passion For Promarker Challenge which this week is Birthdays

Polka Doodles Wedding With A Difference

This is my card for the Polka Doodles "Wedding With A Difference" challenge. We have to use something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

I started with a new pack of Craftwork Card blanks - I really like the quality of these cards. The old is a bit of lace from my late m-i-l's sewing basket. My borrowed item is the image, backing paper and sentiment. They're from a Complete Cardmaking With Your Computer CD which I borrowed from my friend some time ago. She bought the magazine and didn't see the "with your computer" part and doesn't use her pc for crafting. In fact she rarely uses the computer at all but I will return it at some stage. I'm pretty sure they are from the Polka Doodles Love and Cherish CD which is on my list to buy. I've taken the image, paper and sentiment into Craft Artist and recoloured them blue before printing off and assembling. The ribbon through the topper was white and I've coloured it with the same ink I edged the paper with. This is the blue part of the challenge. Another card for the animal sanctuary.

Wardrobe/Dresser Cards

It's my turn to take our craft club class next month so I thought I'd get the samples done nice and early.

The first is a wedding card using a Spellbinders die. The drawers are cut with a Stampin Up punch and the greeting is from Stampin Up's Special Blessings. I've added pearls for the drawer handles and dress

The second one is a boys card using Papermania's Love of Sport set, coloured with Promarkers. The boots stamp had the laces hanging so I cut that off and added some thread to hang them so they are loose. Brads for the handles this time and I've used a Stampin Up punch to shape the bottom

The third one is a girly one using a Woodware set called Fashion Style. I actually got this at Lakeland Plastics years ago. I've stamped on patterned paper and added a little colour. I've used mirri card on the doors and the drawers are a Stampin up punch and brads again

I think this last one is my favourite - a baby card. The die cuts are another Spellbinders die. On this one I've added a closure for the wardrobe - I seem to have hundreds of these and never use them so at least it's one less! The little romper suit is embossed with a teddy but it still doesn't show well in the close up

Purple Poppies

This is the card I made for my Aunt's 70th Birthday last Sunday. The starting point was purple poppies as that's  her favourite flower. I've taken them from Labelled With Love from the Big One cd. The corners and butterfly are Marianne Design dies and I've backed them with purple vellum  The leaves and stems are cut from green vellum. It's finished off with some gems on the butterfly and some glamour dust on the flowers although that doesn't show on the photograph. Luckily she loved it.

Spud

Well that's not his real name but he answers to it.

This is Buddy - our near neighbours cat who stays with us when we are in Southampton. He left his original home when his owners got a new cat and has lived between us for the last 5 years and I'm sure he visits other places too.

I took this picture from the back bedroom. He is sat on top of our next door neighbours shed in the sunshine. Isn't he handsome?

Monochromatic Easel Card

This is my entry to the Polka Doodles Challenge 19 - Monochromatic Shades. I've used Amelia from the Pretty Sweet cd and coloured her with Promarkers. I wasn't sure how to lay out the card so I've used the sketch on this weeks Cutie Pie challenge which is to make an easel card.

The paper is a free download from Polka Doodles. I've printed in yellow for the main background and printed it in a more orange tone on the back to make the roses using a Marianne die. The ribbon is by Papermania.

Less Is More Colour Challenge - Yellow

The theme for this weeks Less Is More challenge is Yellow. For my very quick thank you card, I've used an Inkadinkado stamp from a set called Friendly Characters. Coloured with Promarkers and layered on yellow card. It would have been even quicker but I had to stamp the image three times. The first two I couldn't work out why the colour was running when I coloured it then I realised I had used Stazon to stamp it!

Polka Doodles Week 18 - De-stress

The theme this week at Polka Doodles is De-stress. I'd normally say the way to de-stress is to spend some time in my craft room but I've been trying to make a card for my Aunt's 70th birthday and it's not going very well. I've put that aside for now in the hope my mojo will return later.

The background papers for this card are from the Pretty Tough cd as is the sentiment. They're printed directly onto the card and the edges distressed with Walnut Stain distress inks. The images are from a Polka Doodle set called For The Boys which was a freebie with Complete Cardmaking a while ago. The images are layered onto Core'dinations and the edges are distressed with a pair of scissors. I've got several different distressing tools but usually end up using scissors!

Polka Doodles Shabby Chic/Vintage

I was playing with Craft Artist again and decided to do another card for the Polka Doodles Shabby Chic/Vintage challenge. I've used Piper and backing papers from the Pretty Sweet cd together with butterflies, roses and lace from Crafts Artist digikits. Piper and the largest butterfly have been decoupaged.

Cutie Pie Challenge 17 - Monochromatic

I don't think we're going to get much of a summer so I've gone straight to autumn for this card. I've used a free digi iimage by Sliekje - her images are so cute. I've coloured the squirrel and acorns with promarkers and printed a greeting on the larger one. The papers are from a Papermania pack called Birdsong and a pack by Avec. I'm entering this in the Cutie Pie challenge which is Monochromatic.
